The following orders were issued to Captain Kathryn Janeway on Stardate 48263.

They were declassified and released to the public shortly after Voyager was officially declared lost, on Stardate 50579.1

ATTN: KATHRYN JANEWAY

You are hereby requested and required to take command of the USS Voyager as of this date.

You are ordered to report to Deep Space Nine with all due haste to take on additional crew before proceeding to The Badlands to search for the Maquis ship designated ‘Val Jean’.

Attached to these orders are charts of the plasma storms on the day the ship disappeared and an intelligence report from the Cardassians, which includes the ship’s last known heading.

Your objectives are to ascertain the fate of the Maquis vessel, then make contact with and rescue lieutenant Tuvok if required.

Upon completion of your objectives, or after two weeks. Voyager will return to Deep Space Nine and await details of your first exploratory mission to the Gamma Quadrant.
