This poem was written by Aman Evek shortly after the Dominion surrendered following their attacks on Cardassia Prime
It is included as a part of conditions set by Evek for his wider inclusion in this in this publication
Cardassia V Darkened and dulled Both present and past Laid to waste Picking through the ruins
Cardassia IV Once lush and abundant Sacrificed for an empire Stained by slavery Laid to waste Picking through the ruins
Cardassia III Once home of military might Caught in the Dominion snare Laid to waste Picking through the ruins
Cardassia I Could light the darkest night Home to none Reflection of what was to come Laid to waste Picking through the ruins
Cardassia Prime Harsh and unforgiving Where we forgot who we were Cities razed Families vaporised Over a billion dead Picking through the ruins A worthy sacrifice, for freedom?
