TRANSMISSION RECORDING - ADMIRAL TRACY TO ADMIRAL PATTERSON

PRESENT:

ADM. J. TRACY

ADM. T. PATTERSON

A grime covered and slightly bleeding Admiral Tracy is visible on the screen in a dimly lit room. It’s clear that the room he is currently in has recently experienced a power surge, amongst other damage.

In stark contrast, Admiral Patterson appears immaculate within a well lit office at Starfleet Headquarters

RECORDING BEGINS

Tracy: Theo. We did it. I’ve found what we were looking for. The sensor data from the shuttle confirms what the Cardassians reported. I think they’re still out the-

Patterson: Enough! Benteen has already been in touch with Starfleet Command, Leyton specifically. I’ve already been briefed on your findings, and your ‘accident’ is the talk of the building.

Intelligence has concluded that they’re likely just echoes left by cloaked Romulan and Cardassian ships from the ill-thought out collaboration between the Obsidian Order and Tal Shiar. They likely used and could still be using the Badlands as a testing area for their cloaks given that we know that the Dominion saw right through them on the Defiant.

If you know what’s good for you, you’ll come straight back to Earth with your tail between your legs and take full responsibility for the accident. You won’t be going back to McKinley. But they may at least let you take voluntary retirement instead of hauling you in front of a court martial.

Tracy: But Theo, I know-

Patterson: Jack. Drop this.
